
Sydney Airport
When you fly to Sydney Airport it is a short 90 minute flight from Melbourne. The trip is a pleasant one with Qantas and Virgin lounges located at both Sydney and Melbourne airports for your trip to and from Sydney. Getting to and from Sydney Airport is easy with buses, car rental, taxis and trains all available outside the airport.
Allowable luggage for the flight from Melbourne to Sydney is one check in bag weighing no more than 32 kilograms (however each airline is different so check with you airline before flying) and one carry on bag weighing 7kgs or less. Business class passengers are entitled to two carry on bags weighing no more than 7kgs each. Check in time for a domestic flight is no later than 30 minutes before departure time, this will apply to your Melbourne to Sydney flight.
When you fly to Sydney you are flying into Australia's largest airport, Sydney Airport. Consisting of three terminals the Sydney Airport caters for international, domestic and regional travel. Terminal 1 is the international terminal, Terminal 2 is the domestic terminal consisting of some Qantas flights and Terminal 3 is the Qantas terminal.

The international terminal caters for all international flights. Airlines that work from the Sydney Airport are British Airways, Qantas, Pacific Blue, V Australia, Emirates, Malaysian Airlines, Japan Airlines, Air Pacific, Air Niugini, Jetstar International, Polynesian Blue, Virgin Atlantic and Air New Zealand to name a few. Terminal 2 is the domestic terminal catering for QantasLink flights QF1600 and above along with all Jetstar flights operating from this terminal. All other domestic flights operate from Terminal 2 at the Sydney Airport. Unless you are flying a particular Qantas flight or Qantas, when you fly to Sydney you will arrive at Terminal 2.
Terminal 3 is the Qantas terminal. Qantas flights QF400-QF1599 operate from this terminal of the Sydney Airport. If you need to get a connecting domestic flight you can do so by taking a shuttle bus (depending on the airline you are flying) or walk. The walk is very short and you will be there in a few minutes.
